Dr. E. Mercy Akinsipe is Board Certified in Family Medicine in the United States and Canada. She has her ABFM and CCFP certification. She is well versed in Family Medicine and has her CPSO (College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario) and CPSA (The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta) qualifications in Canada. She also successfully managed her own practice with a patient panel of 2000 while working in Sarnia, Ontario. Dr Akinsipe is experienced in Women’s Health, Mental health, Diabetes, Hypertension, Preventative medicine, Pediatrics, Pain management and much more. Furthermore, she has taken care of patients of all age groups. She just relocated to Calgary, Alberta and is accepting new patients.

Dr E. M. Akinsipe was the Family Medicine Chief Resident at the University of Central Florida College Of Medicine HCA GME Consortium Family Medicine Residency in Gainesville, FL and Junior Faculty at the University of Central Florida, Class of 2018. She received her Medical Doctorate from Ross University School of Medicine, Dominica and her bachelors of science for Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences at McMaster University, Hamilton ON, Canada. She is married to her wonderful husband Akinola Akinsipe, P.ENG & MBA and they have two beautiful daughters together, Olivia and Kayla Akinsipe.

While at Residency she collaborated with faculty, Dr. Jennifer Jones and colleague, Dr. Hans Cancel Villamil on “Bariatric Surgery from a Family Physician’s Perspective” which got published in Florida Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. E.M Akinsipe was also part of the Clinic Efficiency Committee at Palms Medical Group where she practiced primary care which was part of the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). She also represented her Family Medicine Program at the FMX conference both in San Antonio and Orlando, organized by American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) where she had poster presentations with Colleague, Dr. Ozdil on “Enhancing Quality Outcomes for a Smoking Cessation Program in a FQHC” and “The Use of the Carbon Monoxide Measurement intervention to Incentivize Smoking Cessation in patients”. She also volunteered at the Samaritan Clinic and at high school sport physicals while in residency. She was also part of the Residency Activities Planning Chair and was part of the organizers for the Family Medicine residency retreat. She has also been a role model and mentor as Chief resident to the other junior residents in her Family Medicine program.

Her personal interests include fitness, soccer, basketball, bowling, travelling and most importantly reaching out to the community. She enjoys spending time with her family and is also dedicated to her Patients.
